Post by: p3t3 on June 28, 2013, 16:26
Well one just wasnt enough so I just picked up another one (+ it was really cheap)  s:P :P s:P

Thought id stick some pictures up to compare the cam side of the engine.

The 2zz in the mr2 now has got +140k miles on it and looks like this..

Quite clean considering age and milage   s:D :D s:D

Then the one I picked up has got 70k on it but looks like this

The lower milage engine is BLACK!!! Loads of sludge in there too!!  s:shock:  s:shock:
First thing on the rebuild is to get those valve seals changed over. + Is this looking like a poorly serviced engine?

Lift bolts looking a bit sorry for them selves but atleast these came out in one piece   s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:

What have other people found under the lid on there engines? milage?

No unfortunately not. I did drain it last night and im still unsure as to what came out, it was ether bitumen or very old oil    s:crazyeyes:  s:crazyeyes:
