Title: Cat issues!
Post by: 1979scotte on May 23, 2014, 09:14
Not that kind the furry kind.
One keeps sitting on my roof. Its lovely and warm in the sun I suppose.
It leaves muddy paw prints everywhere and I am worried over time it will stretch the vinyl.
Don't mention claws!
Any ideas?
No I don't want to shoot or poison it. I am an animal lover.

Yes I doubt the smell would be appealing  s:) :) s:) . But when i first went on the site did say somthing about cats climbing over cars, so I dont know if they have something for that on the website.

On a mroe serious note, I know cats dont really like orane or citrus things. I dont know if there is, but you could try washing your roof in a citrus smelled wash. Might keep it off?

Failing that. Go to your local safari park/zoo and ask for a bag of Lion Poo and smear it into your roof, supposed to keep the foxes away too but then if you have any dogs in the area like mine you might find they'll be up there rolling in it  s:evil:  s:evil:   s:lol:  s:lol:

How about getting a car cover and wiping cat repellant over most of it.
If you leave say 30 cm clean around the edges it will make it easy to fold the cover up without making the inside of the cover dirty.

After speaking to my resident cat disliker (mother in law) who has tried it all, have gone for a sonic cat deterrent.
Ackers: don't even start about dogs the wife is practically begging for one. I grew up with Labradors and old English sheep dogs. Love them to bits. Pain in the arse!
Thanks for all the ideas. Most people here are so helpful.
Off to bed to sober up.
Night all.

Orange peel. Leave some on the roof for a few days and hopefully the cat will stop coming back. Sounds odd but works!

Careful though. Full of citric acid.
