Title: someone else's Blue TF300 Roadster
Post by: stewart@boro on September 20, 2015, 20:35
Try as I might I can not find a single photograph of my car when I purchased it in February 2011 so here is one of my favourite pictures of the car earlier this year in Scotland.

(http://i1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh610/stewartatboro/P4190115.jpg) (http://s1254.photobucket.com/user/stewartatboro/media/P4190115.jpg.html)

Owning an MR2 Roadster was a must when I went to have a look at the car just after it was released as the replacement for the mk2. Never had a drive in a mk2 but many years earlier had frequently been a passenger in a mk1.

After some time during which finances were tied up in family concerns finally bought the car I had always wanted. Looked on auto trader saw one for sale locally and went and bought it, all within a couple of hours. Didn't know of the forum or the significance of the tf300 edition but knew I had got something special. Even running out of petrol on the A66 during the test drive didn't put me off.  s:) :) s:)

During the first year of ownership it was a weekend motor with a few short holiday breaks with the wife, who has only driven it once!!

Not sure why but in February 2012 found myself looking on the forum, didn't have any issues but just curious to see what others did with their cars. Noticed there was a meet up starting in Skipton so decided to pop along. Thats when it all started......  s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:

to be continued.....

No need to welcome him along. He's part of the forum furniture, Stewart's a thoroughly top bloke with a great car.

We had a very nice exhaust moment as we went our separate ways at M1  junction 20 the other month. So +1 on the exhaust note.  s;-) ;-) s;-)

Cheers Chris, think the front bumper will need some attention after a return to Scotland next year. It does get a bit pebble blasted.

Now done over 200 miles in my stewardship.
90 of them lidless.
Just over quater of a tank for 90 miles is just a touch more frugal than the V6.
They really are fun little cars it does make me wonder why I was so desperate to add huge amounts of power.
Another 50 ftlb and it would be perfect.
Think I had forgotten that less can be more.

Corrected that for you. ;)
As me ole mate Bob Hoskins used to say. It's good to torque.
The fairy godmother didn't go chasing bhp did she.
Nuff said.

One is for the focus which occasionally throws an injector code but as I don't care about it much I just clear it and carry on. Doesn't happen that much tbh.

If its an o2 sensor then its the last of the 3 to be replaced, unless it the one after the cat which was replaced early in my ownership so it might be second time around.

Little top down drive to blue water nothing exciting.

Discovered the TRD valve caps gone this morning no idea when the went.
Not upset about loosing them not to my taste but I hope the ass hole who took them dies a slow painful death.
