Title: Mr2 2zz supercharged
Post by: culmen on October 28, 2016, 21:29
Hello
I want to show car i bought over 1 year ago and whole way to present form.
It`s w30 facelift 2005.
Hardtop, air conditioner, lsd. Rest stock.

And i started to learn that car on tracks.

I started to change:
Tyres yokohama ad08r
Lower springs
Motul rbf660
Brake pads (front ferrodo 2500) (rear EBC yellow pad)
Steel brake hoses
Whiteline sway bars
Whiteline camber bolts

And i was driving almost whole year that setup

Then i changed seats.
Seats from Toyota gt 86 are about 8kg heavier but more comfortable with better holding.

We cut orginal mounts and weld to gt86 rails.

cons:

-2cm higher seat

And oil cooler
(http://s33.postimg.org/k0xm4v2nz/DSC_0175.jpg)

Now i know that it was not enough for motul v300 5w30.

After 1 year we decided to go futher.
I bought corolla ts with bemani supercharger.

Great build, must be a lovely car to drive  s:) :) s:)

Where did you get the larger bore oil suction pipe, is it a Toyota pipe?

Also, what are the fins on the outside of the sump for?

It's not finished yet. So i cant tell about drive right now.

1. It's toyota suction pipe but with spacer 4mm.
Normally there is smaller hole. We cut it off for better oil flow.

2. Fins are for cooling.
I had some troubles with cooling because nearest race track is technical.
There are alot corners. Im using 90% time 2nd gear.

Could you provide more details on this? Do you have a template for cutting?

@jvanzyl
Belive me You dont need tutorial! Its very simple.
You need driller and welder only.
1. Drill tack welds in rails to detach mounts.
2. Screw mounts in orginal places.
3. FIt gt86 seats to mounts.
4. Weld!
5. Well done.

We finished project already.
There was some trouble but most of them solved.

Stock ECU, stock injectors  s;) ;) s;)

High range will be better but we didnt remove that 1" part of intake before air filter,
and second think intake blown during dyno.
Noting serious silicon tube before IC.

Wrong just 233hp@7500. Suppose a litle bit more on the top.
There was alot problems on dyno. We didnt check after "repair" intake.
Not tested yet.
Just going track 19.03

You can do it on a stock 1mz with the trd charger at 4psi.
There is also a 2gr i know of doing the same thing.

Stock celica 2zz ecu is running on autoadaptation.
Its very simmilar ecu to 1zz ecu (propably other too)

If You are intrested about autoadaptation I can write some about behavior.

And about fuel injectors.
They are stock but we increased fuel pressure.

If you know a lot about the Toyota ecu auto adaptation, can I ask you to explain in the LTFT Emanage thread. Please?

Yes please do, I'm very interested in this!

Would you say this is easier to do than e.g. custom tuning on PFC?

Also would you say this is more / same or less reliable than custom map on standalone ecu?

Im back  s;) ;) s;)

About autoadaptation.
It seems raliable.
Corolla did over 150k km on that setup. And i get no engine fault in service history.
Mr did few kkm already (2 track days and over 300km on tracks already)
and almost no bad signs.
At 1st trackdays "Kielce 4nano time attack" was very hot and i had some problems with temperature water/oil
I changed front radiator to mishimoto. Problem solved water dont exced 90c already and oil temperature drops too.
On next TD "Autodrom Jastrząb" only twice oil  reach over 120c (about 1km slower and temp drops to 100c)

Second problem. After 2 sessions i run out od front brake pads.
I was to "hungry" and i was pushing hard still  s;) ;) s;)

I think fuel starvation at that fuel level is normal, I get it on roundabouts on my way home from work. Maybe you can sort a swirl pot? With your fabrication skills it can't be too hard! The car looks great so keep on showing us your efforts!

@jonty
Most tracks im running has fuel station in about 5km.

Another event finished without big problems. 4nano Koszalin time attack
(Just fuel starvation and raising oil temp)
Im trying to not drive when temp reach 120c. I know its super afe temp.

This time i used yokohama a048 tyres on OZ Superleggera rims.
Front 205/50 r15 soft
Rear 225/50 r15 medium ( left tyre scrubs from fime to time on bumps.

Car survived another trackday.
Kielce circuit.
Rainy/wet conditions makes that place slippy as ice.
There are 2 or 3 different asphalt with various grip.

I'm going another track day this sunday.

Place 1 & 2 are errors.

It's sacond to last session not fastest.
I was very tired already and few times failed gear change.
After 10min tires were overheated.

After winter i had some problems this time.
Some problems with 3rd gear.
And i was not able to remove sillencers!
I remove screws and i shot left on track.

Another problems was tyres.
Wheather forecast says 0c-5c and wet conditions.
I choose toyo r1r. I killed them on 1st session  :-\

They are goot for daily use but they are not enough for dry track in 15c.
