Title: Yellow speed and more
Post by: mulaz on November 15, 2016, 19:03
Over the last few weeks i have had my car up on my ramps to do some maintenance to improve the handling and also a few other odds and sods

I fitted Tien springs with a 30mm drop along with new shocks a few years ago and these were a great improvement over my old worn units but to be honest still not as sharp as i wanted.

Now after many hours of cursing removing rusty worn out parts my car now sits on new Yellow speed coilovers along with new wishbones , Track rod ends, steering bulkhead gator.
Then this was all finished off with a coat of Dinitrol.

Have the car booked in for a 4 wheel set next week but even before this i have been testing my car on my way to work and back ,the handling has improved considerably over Tiens .
The steering is so much lighter and sharper than before

Will post an update after the alignments is done but happy for now

I love my Yellowspeed coilovers.

I did have an issue a couple of months ago due to my own stupidity, I stiffened the dampers up half way on all corners. Don't do this, if your on the public roads   s:shock:  s:shock:  .

I have now got the dampers set at 1 click front and 2 clicks on the rear. The ride is a lot smoother.

Although the best review would be trying other cars back to back with different coilovers manufactures.

I think you will really like yours Yellowspeed coilovers.

Cheers MR Roadie 2 for the info on the damper settings . Like you I wound them up too far. I had them up to 18 clicks at the rear and 14 up front. So at lunch time adjusted them down as you had recommend to 1 front and 2 rear . Did a quick drive and the ride is smoother and feels just as quick without roll around the bends .

You'll have it back up  s:) :) s:)  You'll see. If you know you're going to be in smooth roads with nice bends, 10ish is the right place to be  s:) :) s:)  You can keep the power on in long bends

Had my 4 wheel alignment done today at AK Automotive ( The car with the engine in the wrong place Specialist ) near Gateshead
All readings now in the green and the handling is sweet as can be

Have to say that i am already well impressed with the yellow speed coilovers , roll on some dry days
