Title: Sweet....mother of pearl...
Post by: ad_car_08 on April 1, 2018, 16:17
Bought myself a lower steering U/J to replace mine which has seen better days and thought I'd tackle it today.
Just pulled the front wheel and Frank out to find this!!!....

Looks pretty serious, and pretty expensive to me... :o what you rekon? It was never going to be a pretty or clean car, but I'm meant to be using this on track days, so safety is even more at the forefront of my mind

Vacuum.  Wire brush.  Rust remedy.  Zinc primer.  Any old silver paint. (I used silver wheel paint 'cos it's tough as old boots).

^what she says^

Hammerite costs more but you don't have to use primer and so dont have to do it all twice! Black hammerite is my choice...

Unlikely, the dirt and rust will have naturally repelled after seeing how you attacked the outside to a super shine! ;) 8)
