Title: MR2 Mudguards
Post by: Rushy67 on August 5, 2020, 12:54
I have a set of mudguards which I have decided to fit to my car. They were quite scuffed and pitted so i have been rubbing down with wet and dry to make smooth.
Can anyone give me advice regarding which is the best primer and topcoat to use?
I will be using a rattle can as no compressor available.
I am worried about the paint cracking/peeling from the flexible surface.

I used Rustoleum plastic primer when I did mine;

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rust-Oleum-AE0040027E8-400ml-Surface-Primer/dp/B001W03PT0/ref=asc_df_B001W03PT0/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=225980896211&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10135184066117141851&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1007025&hvtargid=pla-420503491146&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

Then followed by the normal process you would use.

I had mine sprayed at a Ding Day when the painter used to come to it and he twisted them from side to side to make sure he was happy with the adhesion of the primer I had put on before he sprayed them with top coat!
