Title: 'Gritty' feeling on the clutch
Post by: StephenBennett on August 15, 2005, 11:53
Hi all

My 2004 MR-2 clutch has started to feel a bit 'gritty'. By this I mean I can feel more vibration through it that I did - it's really noticable now. Is this a sign of anything? Should I be worried about possible clutch failure?

Regards

Stephen

It may be that there is some contamination of sorts on the flywheel, or that the clutch surface itself has been damaged. For what it's worth I have done 43000 miles on my stock clutch and 4000 of that have been with the turbo, so they do last OK usually.
I guess the only solution is to see if it improves / worsens and take it in to be looked at if it gets no better.
