The full kit seems overpriced to me, the cheaper one looks good as long as the bumper itself is sound and you like a bit of painting afterall! Thats also towards where your Mum is isnt it?

Yeah it is a lot of money for a "look".. I'd rather put that money towards some kind of FI...

And yes the Cheaper option is down towards my moms..  just not feeling it yet really.. I shall sit and think on it some more!

Or you could go for a Toyota TRD stage 2 bumper?

True... that would be very nice.

Ordered a matching gauge, another 52mm smoked super white from RSpec oil temperature this time.

Rolled an eye ball over the nice wide band Sensors... not going down that route yet. If I commit to FI then yeah sure...

This evening I thought I'd have a go at the windscreen trim.

Let the wife have a go at the first coat!

Ok so update on the experiment.
The paint goes on nicely- much easier to use than normal paint.

The colour all though very nice is not a match for the roof, so if I were to do it again I'd go for navy blue or something.

The hard part with this type of paint is in the removal of the borders... sometimes it comes off nicely others not. It is this that is going to need to some research to find out how to do it right.

In terms of the look... well the colour being wrong doesn't help, but I'm not convinced it'sa good look... I'll try again with a dark blue and we'll see.

Would I like the whole car in this colour? Yeah... probably!

I missed what type of paint that is but generally you would remove the masking tape as soon as you have finished spraying so that it tears as not fully hardened. If you wait until its dry then you can lift a chunk off.

Good to see the wife is fully onboard with your modding now so next stop, FI!

Maybe some fabsil on the roof would help? It darkens up the roof slightly and gives it a more lively look (ok, I know that sounds weird but it just looks better, ok?).

If we are both going to shinding day (and you remind me) I can bring some for you to try.

Plastidip!
Hence the issue with border removal.. yeah the masking tape removal could have been done sooner, but I'm not sure that's the only thing.
Can't do ShinDing as wife is working..
really would like boost.. hunting for a decent manifold at the moment.

Did you mean to say darken or lighten up the roof?

Topdownman

Ah, plastidip, I imagine it's still important to remove masking tape quickly but I haven't tried it.  I have seen videos of people doing emblems and they seem to spray everything and then pick off the  overspray. Weird!

Darken.

Well I can see why they do that now... it's a bit hit and miss..

But it is a very easy way of testing out a potential colour change 😁

Blyton booked again for 1st August!

Manifold welded up and checked for other cracks, seems fine..... Meh!

Manifold ported out to match the exhaust ports better.

Waiting on a gasket which should be here tomorrow.

there's a couple of £100 in it as the mambatek comes with a lot of attachments and gaskets etc.. no idea on them vs garett though..

Good lad Mr Forum. You've done well. Good lad. Not even the links get through
...neutiquam erro.

jvanzyl

sigh... nice on Patrick.
anyway - opting for 2554R.. so I just need to stump up for that and then drop the car off round Kevins and see what happens..
The upcoming costs are basically 1k for the manifold, through to exhaust, £700 for turbo unless I can find one that needs a rebuild and do that myself. Then it's going to be another £500 odd for bits and pieces I reckon and then the decision will be to either use the emanage ultimate or go with RRR.. but we'll see.

jvanzyl

So I had a few mins today to mess around with a meguirs scratch remover kit..
Didn't do a grand job of before and after photos sorry.
