So these arrived today:

I wish all car mods were like this.. took a couple of mins to install, went in quickly and easily and work SO much better than the old ones...

Many thanks to @shnazzle for sourcing these.

Gave my spare front bumper a quick going over with my ROS - used 400 grit (dry) wish you wet sand at this pace.
Then did the whole thing with 1000 wet sanding. It's not as fast as the machine but quite satisfying.

Basically it's now ready for high build filler- main areas that need work are right in the front under bit - doesn't really get seen I suppose but I'm keen on making this look good.

This bumper was resprayed prior to me getting hold of it - you can see the PFL silver through the attempted recreation of PFL silver here:

Quote from: jvanzyl on July 15, 2020, 12:03Ok so update on the experiment.
The paint goes on nicely- much easier to use than normal paint.

The colour all though very nice is not a match for the roof, so if I were to do it again I'd go for navy blue or something.

The hard part with this type of paint is in the removal of the borders... sometimes it comes off nicely others not. It is this that is going to need to some research to find out how to do it right.

In terms of the look... well the colour being wrong doesn't help, but I'm not convinced it'sa good look... I'll try again with a dark blue and we'll see.

Would I like the whole car in this colour? Yeah... probably!

Good way to describe the stock ones. They're like those cheap water pistols you got for free in kid's party bags or gumball machines

How people's expectations change. I do agree with the comparison, although the OE washer jets are last century design, you would  still appreciate the water pistol as against no water pistol as was the case earlier in my motoring life. I used to keep a squirty bottle  with a spot of Fairy liquid in the car to clean the screen.
At one time screen washers were available as a modification from Halfords, but  before that, so were heaters!

Brilliant. Thanks. Just ordered a pair for the princely sum of £4.70 all the way from China.

So today marked the second and more successful attempt at getting the windshield replaced due to a stone crack:

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

So, in Croyde this morning to pickup the wife's Alhambra as they have been unable to fix it and so I'm flatbedding it up to a local transmission specialist.

Soo the mot came up. Assuming @shnazzle knew this too and started thinking bad thoughts.
Failed on rear left hand brake.
So wheels off, and hard top off and probably seats out so I can get to everything comfortably... when I get a chance at least.

Will need to clean up all the threads prior to reassembly, but I'll get to that.

Saved me going to the breakers to rob some from an old bonnet. Cheers.

So more progress on the brakes..
Both rear sets of pads off where upon I discovered the rear right inner had a slight wear problem:

Soo that'll be a new set of rear pads then.
Next up was working the pistons in and out a few times to keep them in good working order. Rear right was a proper schlep to work in and out.. got better towards the end after a few times.

Then I moved onto the actual initial problem which was the hand brake, here it can be seen fully extended:

Not...
managed to free them up by opening a set of pliers and working them back and forth and adding lots of plus gas.. mental note, must clean the excess off the disc.. You cannot view this attachment.

Found some el cheapo pads on eBay which someone was selling.. but after my lame experience with pagids I'll spend a bit more. You're recommendations are welcome!

jvanzyl

Well- decided that since I went el cheapo route last time that I'd spend a bit more this time round. Have decided on EBC yellows.

I've also ordered a brake bleeder and a better wind back tool and some dot 4 brake fluid. Some got past the piston seals on the back left and it's about 3 years plus old at least.
