For me personally I wouldn't on something that old.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Quote from: Bernie on February 25, 2022, 19:27As has been said only way is piggyback or whilst derided as old tech, Apexi Power FC ECU is plug and play and combined with a few mods makes a decent output

Crower Stage 1 Cams (MonkeyWrench USA)
Fidanza lightweight flywheel
Zero - 4 into 2 Equal Length, tuned collector, Manifold SS.
Silverstone Performance De-cat pipe, fitted with 200 CEL Sports Cat.
Moroso Racing sump (baffled and extra capacity)
Blueflame Custom Twin Exhaust.
PPE Cold Air Induction system
Apexi Power FC (ECU) with Commander hand controller
Up graded serpentine belt tensioner (Alloy)

Mapping / Dyno by Noble Motorsport.
171 BHP - with dyno print out

171 bhp is great for 1zz . I have envy of the mx5 nc 2.0 lump which has more tuning options.

Remaps can work well on NA engines too but of course turbo engines respond better.

I'm debating the MAF mod and Zero manifold assuming I can bet the bloody handbrake working!

Quote from: Anon on May  6, 2022, 16:51Have you noticed that our ECU is actually on this list for modification.

http://www.mines-wave.com/english/CATALOG/ECU/VX-ROM_TOYOTA.htm

So they do actually make a daughter board for our ECU type.

I am in communication with the Russian guy, he is very smart and has alot of hours invested into Toyota ECU reverse engineering. There are some hold ups in the cloning game. With time I'm confident he will have solutions but this maybe years as it is just one guy reverse engineering a complex chip with not documentation. He is a very bright individual, I am sure he will one day open the door.

By which time ICE will be banned. Unfortunately.

Well...
The 2035 is on fossil fuel burners. Also on néw cars sold.
Secondly... can´t see it for rural areas.
We´ll see.
The conflict with Russia is not helping the ICE cause though. Public opinion will be softer about fuel use restrictions/ price increases, whether necessary or not, as such speeding up electrifying.

Until EVs are priced the same as ICE vehicles I would not fork out my hard earned £££ just to satisfy some green environmentalists!

When did common sense ever stop politicians doing something stupid?

In this case there is a hidden agenda and the course ordained by their puppet masters.

Véry neat indeed. The flat torque curve as neat as hp. numbers.

The MAF mod was found to not play nice with different cams.
Also it makes no sense when you have a custom mapping. Remember that the MAF mod is basically only a trick to fool the ECU into advancing the ignition at low/mid revs. The extra power because of removing the slight restriction is not going to shock the dyno.
