I've not run a gasket between the manifold and turbo or turbo and downpipe.

Straight metal on metal no leaks at all.
Use "belleville" (fancy word for a cupped serrated spring) washers all around.

If the flange metals are of similar type, thickness and flat then a gasket just adds  a potential point of failure.

If the gasket burns thru, the threads lose their bite. Heat and vibration do their thing .....blah blah blah  s:lol:  s:lol:

Perhaps your EGTs are exceedingly high?

right I collected these from Nissan and can confirm teh part numbers are

Plate lock (2 needed per turbo)  Nissan Part no 1449517F00     £2.30 each
Nuts (4 needed per turbo)  Nissan part no 144320B700   £2.10 each

they are identical to those used on teh TTET

I'm not 100% sure that you need these particular nuts as tehy look nothing out of the ordinary however Stu will confirm when he's tried it  :-) :-) :-)
