How often do you need to top up with oil?

see my comment in teh other thread then about using thicker oil. if it burnt oil due to a precat issue before, just fixing teh exhaust side won't change that.

i read elsewhere that some of the VVTi engines tend to go through oil v quick after 50k miles.

an anyone confirm/disconfirm this please???   s:) :) s:)

I can only speak from personal experience my first '2 had done 67K when I p/x'd it and was not an oil eater - my current one is Turbo'd - 71K and also stays at the same level.
ex-TTE Turbo, now Freelander Sport, its not a car its a Landrover!

Had the TTET/SP Stage II for over a year now and have never need to top the oil up allthough it is changed every 4K miles.
