I have been trying to get a company near the midlands to do a proper map/ dyno setup on my  car for some weeks now, but nobody seems that interested. I have a modified air intake, amuse equal length Titanium manifold and an apexi exshaust as well as the unichip but i am sure the car is under fueling as it pops ans bangs alot and feels gutless (this started when manifold was fitted), below 4000rpm.

I've tried RGS Motorsport in wellingborough, PTS in Luton ,jamsport in Northampton, and Silverstone Performance ( they want £440 just to map)

Anyone got any suggrestions.

Thak you in advance

Ring Dastek up in Fife. They will give you the name of your closest Unichip mappers. That is what I had planned to do with it before I changed over to emanage.

As a reference I paid £120 for two hours on the dyno at millways and a road test.

Luckily, you have a harness to go with it so you shouldn't have the problems that ChrisGB  had with fitting a unichip.

Still not sure if it was wiring problem or compatibility problem. Might try Emanage next at Thor Racing. Trouble is, looking at current torque level, I cannot see much to be gained, comparing to other cars with Unichip. I think I may wait until this multi throttle intake is around. Plenty to keep me going before then with a set of bracing on its way.

I have found out why all the companies i have rung are reluctant to do the job...Dastek wont give them the software they need to map the Mr2 Roadster.

After ringing Dastek to confirm this they gave me the contact detials of an "authorised Tuner"  s:shock:  s:shock:

So I am now taking my 2 to perfect touch in hoddersford near watford Herts, on the 17th May. They seem to be qiute knowledgeable on mapping and i will let you all know how i get on.

Well i wish i had good news.....Perfect touch rung me an dcancelled on me the night before the work was due to be done, said thier laptop was busted!!!

They promised to ring back to let me know when they could book me back in but i had to moan to Dastek in Scotland just to ge them to contact me (they still have a £50 deposit)

They offered me this wed but after booking a day off for the friday that they cancelled its very hard to get another day out of the office (and i'm the boss!) the next Saturday slot they have free is the 9th June!

Kinda had enough now so htought i would ask you guys what you would do, cant drive the car that far as its running rich hence me needing a proper map.

Phil says above you have the harness. easy way round is unplug that, put cables back into ECU and it will then run as normal.

I'd second the recommendation of Perfect Touch - Just been down there this morning to get the Roadster remapped and some more boost added - they've done a great job.

The Profec settings for boost control they've updated are a bit 'digital' at the moment which meant driving home in the rain took more concentration than before, but they've got a lot more power out of the PE turbo setup than Millway did, and the map is very smooth.

FWIW, Two hours of time on their dyno cost £250 with Rob doing the mapping. Its worth it - they had a number of Skylines there (including one from Holland) just to be mapped. This morning someone turned up from Wales having driven over to collect a Skyline he'd left with them to have an engine map.

Yep, they had a old HP laptop with a dodgy Parallel port in bits this morning - the parallel port is needed as the laptop's that run their mapping software require a hardware dongle to be fitted..
