No idea. All I can say is I assume you "fiddled" with it to make sure it was sitting perfectly?

By the way, what is a "green" filter, and who makes it? If you are talking about longlife ones from TRD etc., then they have been fitted before without problems.

Hi Roger,

Found info on this forum for them,  w www.green-filter.co.uk w .

I have fiddled around with it, but it seems the outer lip seats between the top and bottom of the outer lip of the filter box.

I'll have another go in abit.......

Sorry to be a problem, but have you got the right filter?

Went on the site. MR2 (AW11) is for the Mark 1, and MR2 is for the Mark 2.

Can't see anything for the Mark 3

Sorry, my bad. I read 99> as BEFORE 1999, which strictly it is! Presumably they meant 99->, and of course they don't make a 1.8 Mk2. Doh

Don't think the side of my TRD one looks like this...

Nor does mine, but I took that as a "generic" side view just to get the dimensions. The top view looks right.  IIRC it has a top lip, and a smaller body, bit like a soup plate.

The dimensions look fine, a little smaller than the K&N ones:

W/L/H
Green:155/249/20
K&N:157/251/24

Perhaps the seal is just that little bit thicker.

green filter are originally from k&n, i think there were arguments in the company and one business partner left and started his own company, they use the same materials as k&n.

if its a case of something being in the way then cut it off

Green filters are a favourite with the Skoda modding crowd (don't laugh, you would be surprised) and are know to have fit problems from time to time. I suspect their tolerancing and process control to not be as good as the suppliers who make the stock items.
