I've already done a search on this, but found nothing - honest!

OK Just returned from my 3rd year service at Toyota. (Actually One month too late.)

I decided to watch to see what they did:
Checked Headlights worked and indicators.
Disconnected Battery
Engine oil and filter change.
Topped up wiper wash.
Removed air filter, blew it with compressed air and replaced it (not with a new one!).
Removed Wheels - looked around.
Checked Tyre pressure (didn't note that I prefer 3psi higher than recommended)

That was it, I expected more.

Isn't there anything else they should have done?

Incidentally they noticed that my rear lens cluster is fogging up. Said they would have it replaced. 10mins after talking on the phone said that as the car had exceeded the 3 years, I wasn't covered!

That's close to what was done to my car on its 3rd year service at the end of November except mine was done 1 week before the end of warranty.  I had new rear lights, new high level brake light (all because of condensation) and new wheels (the usual problem of bubbling).

The next service, the 4th year, is a major one however, when virtually everything is checked and fluids are changed.  In the UK, there is a service plan where you pay so much a month and get a 20% discount on parts and I may well take this up to reduce and spread out the cost.

The 3 year is a small service, inspection of practically everything you can think off. Brakes, lights, washers, horn, wipers, hose & pipes, exhaust, driveshafts/boots, pads, discs. Air filter is 4 years or 30K.  MrT cost was £55, so likely to be less than an hour.

Hi my 2 is coming up for its 3rd service end of August done 28000k & MOT

Mr. T Southport just quoted me £150.....  For service alone will discount me to £135 seams expensive for an interim service what do you think?? Was expecting <£100

Looks like I need 4 new tyres also they quoted £437 for Bridgestone

checked with my local Costco used to find them great for tyres but can only do the front 185/55 v 15 for £75 each  but can't get the rear 215/45 v16
Must say bit confused with prices and sizes of the 2 sizes seem to vary

last question....... having battery trouble just come back from 2 weeks holiday battery completely flat needed jump start Mr t said battery good
But this seems to happen every time I leave the 2 without starting for a week or more....as anyone had any similar problems?

Mr. T said they would do a battery drain test when I bring it in for the service in August

Sorry another question.... has anyone took out an extended warranty they quoted £655 for 24 month <10000 mile seems  extortionate to me what do members think???

Plenty of information in "search", but to save you the bother...

1. Too expensive
2. OK for Bridgestone, but try Toyo
3. Costco for tyres, WTF   s:flame: :flame: s:flame:
4. Buy an intelligent tricklecharger (about £20) or switch off alarm.
5. Warranty Direct can do cheaper (£250 ish pa for non-franchised garage)

Mine cost £55 from MrT, see 3rd post! Better ask what they are doing because that was all labour, they might be including bits & pieces.

Usual Toyo size on rear 16" is 225/40. 225/45 has also been used.

On the subject of extended warranty

My Service & Maintenance contract costs me £49 pm and covers servicing, the MOT, tyres/discs/pads/other consumables (except petrol & oil of course   s:wink:  s:wink:  ). It also covers costs of all parts and labour when something breaks with no excess to pay. I have a 15k per year milage allowance, and it covers me for 5 years/75k miles.

So your quote of £655 for 24 month <10000 mile does seem extortionate to me.

Nope the 245's have only been on the 17"ers; 225's on the stock 16"ers

Lakeside Costco will not supply Michelins on an 2 like ours guys, they say the 2 is not in the application book so they not covered within their public liability insurance, tried twice now wont bother again.
