Can anyone clear this up?

From one thread

Quote3 x replacement lower manifold studs: T90116-10146 @ £1.55 each
3 x replacement lower manifold nuts: T90179-10070 @ £1.45 each
2 x Exhaust gasket : T90917-06065 @ £2.89 each
1 x Exhaust Manifold gasket: T17173-22010 @14.61

From another thread...

QuoteGasket Manifold 1 off T17173-22010 £14.05
Gasket Exhaust 2 off T90917-06065 £2.76 each
Gasket Exhaust 1 off T17451-22060 £7.57

Bolts aside, do I need three or four gaskets?

The 4th gasket quoted is the cone shaped one that goes between the cat pipe and the exhaust box behind the bumper.

If you are taking the whole system off, for another +/- £7 suggest you replace this as well.

Yeah, it depends how much you take off. I personally left the cat/main box intact and just removed the manifold, so I didn't need the 4th gasket.

I'm not going to be doing it, a local garage is. Why would they remove the main cat, is the manifold not entirely removable itself?

Manifold is removeable without undoing the exhaust / cat join, I just added the proviso for future reference

hi,
do please let on with how it goes? I've got an '04 and am unsure about the chances of the pre-cats failing.
Of course, if they're not there anymore, they can't mess up your engine can they..
hope it goes well matey,
