Now I have my lovely (and cheap!) 17" Mille Miglia wheels, I now need some indication as to pressures - the tyres are 205/40/17 all round, does anyone have any recommendations?

Which model wheel did you get, and what do you call cheap?

Has no-one any idea? I don't want to ruin these tyres and have to buy new ones because of my own ineptitude!   s:oops:  s:oops:

This is a guess applying a little common-sense.  I'd suggest that if the sidewall is higher or the tread wider you increase the pressure (to support the extra unsuported rubber).  By what extent I don't know, but I'd apply some ratios.

Sorry I can't be more concrete.

approx 4 psi higher than stock would be the place to start. Though I'd up the fronts a little more to take accont of the fact that you lost the stagger.

Thanks Markiii, that sounds reasonable. Got this reply from Falken themselves, what do you think? I think the rear sounds a little high...

Our Tire Guide for USA models shows the 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder has two differnet sizes front and rear as original equipment:  185/55R15 81V front / 205/50R15 85V rear, at 26 PSI front and 32 PSI rear.

The 205/40ZR17 ZE-512 is an 84W (Reinforced).

Assuming the UK models are similar, then you could use 28 PSI front and 42 PSI rear.
