Do I need my rain cover on the engine cover?

As above... Can't help but think my car would run a lot cooler without the rain cover that is bolted on the underside of the engine cover. I think the heat would be released much more effectively if it simply wasnt there. I'm sure water would be hard pushed to get to the battery/sparks etc, but would like the opinions of some more experience members, please!!!!

Thanks
Andy

I haven't had one on in .. ooh, I can't remember how long. No problems (aside from the time I left the black plastic rocker cover garnish off and it rained & filled the plug wells with water  s:lol:  s:lol:  )

Thanks, Aaron. Just the answer I was hoping for! Did you notice any improved engine running put of curiousity?
