Firstly can I say a big thank you to all who replied to my query.

Due to several replies, (not that I disputed any....but thought it best to contact Mr. T due to non consistency) I was told:-

All roadsters come with the timing chains (not belts) from first production to ongoing.

The chains are designed to last beyond 200,000 - 350,000 miles.

If rattles or ticking is found......then adjustment to the chain is all that is necessary as it is extremely rare that the chain has to be changed.

All that is necessary is for the chain to be checked only if a problem arises.  Mr. T has told me that they have never known of chain problems whether UK or Import.

Obviously, if you feel that the chain needs checking (for peace of mine) then okay but apart from that, no need for change.

I appreciate that some toyota dealerships give various information but I have telephoned toyota head office technical department to clarify information, so if your local toyota dealerships are stating a change of timing chain - get a second opinion from another toyota dealership!
