toy43 blade on this, not toy41, is is not wider at the base and the center "slit" goes closer to the base than the one on hte side
Not for MR-s. might work on MR2

Both MR2 and MR-S use the same toy41 key, the only difference between them is the 1button or 2button remote.

Some info!!!!!! According http://key.lockcenter.co.jp/mrs.html , there is two keys for the MR-s (MR2 MK3 japanese) (JPY3000 fo shipping=16,500.00 JPY = 163.669 EUR)
   . TY-MS01 - ZZW30 1999/10-2002/8
   . TY-MS02 - ZZW30 2002/8-

Frequency: 313Mhz (found online toyota frequencies of 313.9Mhz, could be usefull to know the devimal value exactly )
Remote Program: OBP

http://www.autokeytransponder.com/products.php?category_id=169&pn_pr=2 seem to have stuff, but impossible to know if compatible, apart for the "4D-67 Chip" type of reference... If we knew the ref of the protocol and frequency for the two generations of MR-s, would help...4C maybe?

***EDIT*** Partner website CTP http://www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=146&flypage=shop.flypage&pop=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=71 have spare for £139.99. picture is stock, it's the right key. Can also do a valet key for £25 precut

have a simple key i got with the car, written "Silica italy" one side and "toy38rap" the other. seem to cost virtually nothing and is a mecanical copy of the master...

Question, would a key with two buttons like the below work on an 2003+ MR-S ?

When a picture shows the section, it's the hole shape in hte ignition switch, or seen from the holding side of the key, so i guess it's a Toy41R (reversed) we need... Therefore http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/643196705/Toyota_1_side_button_remote_blank.html is the wrong shape..

I had only 1 key with remote (whose plastic were failing) and 1 Master key copy (Silca Toy38rap - Getting this is cheap on Fleabay and cost few euros at you local locksmith), also had an alarm fot, but at times, the locking seem to not work until i use the central locking switch inside...

I went to our parner CTP ( m http://www.cheapToyotaParts.com m ), and ordered (costed with shipping fees £169.99 GBP to ireland) a master remote and valet key, and received:
. Master key with One button remote (toyota), need to register it with the ECU [http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=23563&view=unread#unread]
   . Toyota valet key
. Silca Toy 41R with ring and red hard paper label hadwritten "Pxxxx" (spare master with code on paper)

This all is looking rather complicated for something that is really quite simple  s;) ;) s;)

I ask CTP already this question and was supplied this link for the J spec keys.
 m http://www.cheaptoyotaparts.co.uk/index ... &Itemid=29 m

I believe if you send them some form of proof of ownership and vin numbers they also supply precut saving you the bother. When i questioned bout the remote locking function, i was told that the key comes with a simple set of instructions as to how to program your remote fob yourself quite easily!

Hope this helps.

I gave them a copy of the master key, and they read the code (between P1 and P2390) which allow to create dupes without sending a key, and created a master with remote, a valet key and a master key copy (which i didn't order but attached to it was the Pxxx code). I thought i made that clear and simple, but apparently failed miserably  s:D :D s:D

Got two processes prom ctp, the uk one where you replace pressing both button on the remote with pressing the only one button on the mr-s remote, and this one, which did nothing for me. dunno for what this process is

Starting sequence:
================
Unlock door
Open Driver's door (Key plate not inserted in ignition key cylinder).
Insert key plate into Ignition key cylinder, and then remove it.
Within 15 sec, move the door control switch 5 times to LOCK then UNLOCK at 1s intervals (10 press total).
Within 15 sec, close then open driver's door.
Within 15 sec, move the door control switch 5 times to LOCK then UNLOCK at 1s intervals (10 press total).
Insert key plate into ignition key cylinder.

Programming Mode Selection:
==========================
Turn the ignition switch from ON to LOCK at 1s intervals:
   . 1 time(s) for Add mode
   . 2 time(s) for Rewrite mode
   . 3 time(s) for Confirmation mode
Remove key plate from ignition key cylinder
The receiver perform the Lock-Unlock operation
   Confirmation mode:   From 0 to 4 times at 2 sec intervals to indicate the number of registered codes. Then it returns to normal mode.
   Add mode:   Once at 1 sec intervals
   Rewrite mode:   Twice at 1 sec intervals

Programming mode:
=================
Within 15 sec, press transmitter switch for at least 1 sec.
Within 03 sec, the receiver perform LOCK-UNLOCK once to inform it has received the signal from the transmitter
Within 15 sec, close then open driver's door, and press transmitter switch for at least 1 sec.
Within 03 sec, the receiver performs LOCK-UNLOCK to inform it has received the signal from the transmitter:
   Once:   Registration of recognition code is completed
   Twice:   Registration of recognition code failed
o   First and Second code didn't match
                        o   Code already registered

Loops back to Programming mode to add or rewrite more codes or exits if:
   15 sec elapses since the receiver last response
   Driver's door is closed
   Key plate inserted in ignition key cylinder
   4 recognition codes are registered at one time.

Weird thing is, i do the normal uk process, if i use my first remote it sees it, if i use the one ctp made, nothing happens when pressing the button, apart a small light flashing on key when pressing... what could i possibly be doing wrong?

The original pairing process worked using 1 button instead of two, but you do seem to have to respect the two pressing time at the end
There is two separate key electronics for the import MR-S, beware. one for pre-facelift, one for facelift models.

I do also have a toad remote, with no passcode. getting the serial number on the alarm (no clue where in the car it is) and toad support can give you the code to reprogram it...
