I have a bag with 2 of those in, I assumed it was something to do with the hardtop, as mine was in the hardtop accessory kit

To me it looks like a grommet or blanking plate.

Looks like the plugs for the chassis rails under the carpets and under the car.

This one has never been fitted to anything.
I think I'd better check there isn't one missing.
Is access to the holes from above or below?

The plugs go in from the inside of the car but you should be able to see if there is one missing by looking underneath the car

Thanks for pic, Vin, but most of those holes are definitely round rather than oblong.
There's a number on the back, might be the part number :  90950-01550
Searched the number, found some info, looks like it should fit to a 'Floor Side Member' but sill or tunnel side?
Also appears they go in from underneath.
I'll take a look under tomorrow.

I still get the pics Rog, in fact they have a great part number search function on there now, which comes up with the postion where the part is fitted, and yes it's just a chassis plug, not sure why you would have spares, unless someone has pulled them out to fit some aftermarket stuff.

My car came with a little packet of two spares in the glovebox (and the ones in the chassis appear original and unmolested) - the dealer had no idea what they were for, naturally.

Thanks,

It is a plug for the frame rails.
Look for matching oval holes on the frame rail under the car just forward of the rear wheels.
As I recall, the hole is on the slanted portion of the frame rail as it arches up and over the rear suspension.
