Had my PFC fitted and mapped yesterday but unfortunately my injectors are maxed out and my IC kept 'boiling up'

CC setup I wanted anyway so I can sort that but its injectors I need advice on

Been on MWR and found a set of 525's which I think should do me.. However they sell 630's for $20 cheaper so I'm thinking I should get those in case of and future upgrages... So my question is, would there be a down side to having bigger injectors than I need or will they be fine?

Cheers in advance   s:) :) s:)

Bigger isn't necessarily better! If you go too big you could lose some of the refinement that you'll need for general pootling around and light acceleration.

I'd say go for a little headroom on duty cycle at full chat, but not too much.

I'd say it's also down whether you're still running a stock fuel system, I had a question on a similar thing (whether 380s were big enough for 240bhp  l viewtopic.php?f=7&t=36696 l ) and running 630s on a stock pump / regulator may be a little out of it's depth but 525s should be fine?

This is why I wanted you guys advice really....

MWR say that they will run ok with stock setup (pump, etc) but can run more with uprated fuel pump, fuel return, etc

So the 525's are the way to go then?

I've got blitz 525s to go on with mine and they've been run on a previous setup (stock fuel pump etc with no issues) if that helps?

Don't suppose you'd fancy ordering some injector connectors on your order to share postage do you? Really want some but postage is silly just for them!!

There is a seller on Fleabay who sells the 550 denso injectors for about $100 less than MWR's  injectors - look for 1sickgt - located in Canada.

I have 525cc injectors, but  you can have issues with starting and slow running if you are not very careful. These ones are about as big as I'd want to go to be honest. Had 440s on my Hass and they were fine, but it all depends on what you are shooting for.
What sort of power is it making at the moment?

Its only making 210 at the moment... The last thing I want to do is chase power though

I'd have thought that the injector size was irrelevent though as long as they are set up correctly? (unless too small of course)

I've asked Ryan for a bit of advice too but he is away until friday mapping in Dubai

I think there is a limit on duty at the bottom end, certainly trickier to adjust as size increases. As an example, mine are around 1.3% on tickover or at least they were at one point. Someone else may be able to say how low you can go sensibly.
Yep, he's calibrating some GTRs I think.

I have the Japanese HyperRev-book for Toyota MR-S and there's a couple of cars (1ZZ-FE turbo)
with relatively small 550 cc injectors; Ricoh Racing's car 286 hp@0,85 bar - Veilside 285 hp with 550's.
SARD's car is with 530 cc injectors and it outputs 250 ps.
And the Blitz's car gives 247 ps@0,6 bar with 380 cc injectors (fuel pressure is 4 bar).

What i know, the 80-85% duty cycle is tops that one should use, so the injectors aren't open all the time.
So i guess that will help you to get some ideas in sizing the injectors.

I am turboing my 1ZZ-FE as well in the future, and i guess that i'll buy the 550 cc's, as i think that those are good for 374 hp with 85% duty cycle.
I do use the old rough rule of thumb ((injector cc/5)*number of cylinders)*duty cycle = max HP
In this case it is ((550/5)*4)*0,85 = 374 hp

My target is around 300 hp. I haven't tried those injectors in practice nor i haven't turboed my car yet.
Anyway i hope that my information is true and helpful. Please correct if i am wrong.

Try X O power tune in cramlington, they have injectors on the shelf! I paid around £200 next day delivery iirc.

I had Celica injectors in mine when it was turboed. They are 300 and something cc's and were good  for 200bhp I was running. They were dirt cheap too

Same as me. 330cc. Bought from newcelica.org, for about $20 for 4, (+ post) and I'm set at 220bhp with no adjustment to fuel flow.

One thing though, if you buy used I strongly suggest you get them refurbed before use.

For that I can recommend these..//.%20l%20viewtopic.php?f=41&t=19661 l

The cleaning guys give you a flow rating before (as well as after), and of the ones I've seen there is always a difference between the 4. Certainly I would suggest its worth a go .
