I have created this as a new topic so that the information can be easily found.

I asked Apex to give me the manufacturers figure for this and the reply from the manufacturer, via Apex was:
QuoteNormally we'll suggest customer to tighten the stud and nut by hand tool. But if he needs the specific torgue figure, he can try 55nm then.

Yes, C-18 rear top mount stud is M10 x P1.25.

So Toyota's manual says 59 ft-lbs (80N-m) for OEM
and
BC suggest just hand tightening or 'try' (I am hoping that 'try' was a bad translation of 'use') a specific figure of 40 ft-lbs (55N-m)

If you do not have this information and use the Toyota OEM values then you will be over tightening by almost 50%.

Again, Apex have been most helpful, they have dispatched new studs + nuts, including some spare ones and telephoned me this morning with the information (+emailed it to me) without me having to chase them. Can't fault Apex and will put the BC issue down to misfortune and maybe BC needing to add a few lines about torque settings for their various stud sizes to the installation sheet that comes with the units.
