HI all,

Discovered corrosion on the right had side of the rear sub frame, quite bad for the age really, looks like a drain hole may have become blocked.

As I have a mig welder I could take it off and repair, but want to check out prices of second hand items first.

Question ----- Are pre and post face lift model rear sub frames identical?

Thanks

Pete

A pre-facelift sub-frame will fit but you will lose the additional bracing (there are aftermarket braces available though) and the undertrays are different too so the fixing holes won't line up.  As you can gather, repairing your existing one is likely to be the best option as facelift sub-frames are hard to come by.  Just make sure you check it over carefully for other corrosion/ degradation - I had to replace one on an 05 car recently that had previously been welded in the "usual" place, but other areas of the frame were paper thin and it had to be replaced anyway!
