£80 a wheel is a bit steep - here in Fife a set of 4 will cost about £160 depending on finish required. My son runs Fife Powder coating in Glenrothes.

That is a very good price. £60 plus vat per wheel round here.

£1.00 per inch in Bradford or £1.50 if lacquered. (Cas Coatings)

Complete facelift set = £93.0

They look good and total surface is blasted and coated. Good choice of finishes including "candy colours" if you are that way inclined.   s:wink:  s:wink:    s:wink:  s:wink:

As ever, depends on what you want to pay. I had a set of wheels done for another car in silver powder coat at £25 each. Was OK for the money , but powder coat is no tougher and doesn't shine as well as wet painted I feel and can be quite ornage peely from poor powder coaters.
I would also avoid, or make clear to, powders coaters that just do general powder work and dont just do wheels, what you want. Some will blast clean the wheel and just coat it. Heavily corroded areas will need further grinding to be flat and smoothe.

Avoid places that come to you and refurb them without taking the tyre off and just paint they face. I haven seen one done properly ever and they charge the same and usually more than proper wheel refurb places for way less than half the job and they won't last.
If you want to do it properly and intend to keep the wheel for a decent length of time , I'd say find a place near to you like Lepsons in Kent, who do a proper and full wheel refurd and not just a quick lick of paint.

Check out:  m http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/ m

Sign up to your local newsletter, and every few months, they have specials. I plan to go there when the time is right, They can do the car same day, and change tires if you're wanting it done. I think I had a quote of around £250 inc VAT for a basic finish.

If you have a day with 8 hours to spare, have a go at doing them yourself. You might be surprised at the result.

depending on how shot your wheels are, it may take you >8 hrs just in the prep alone... it took me a good two days to strip my wheels (i used a chemical stripper), repair any guts or dents... sand them smooth and proper cleaning... then you can even just start to think about the pretty stuff... get the self etch primer down, 3 coats colour and 3 coats clear... i baked my wheels under a heat lamp for a few hours and now still need to wetsand before polishing them out...

this is what i started with... gutted rims, and the typical bubbling paint inside the spokes...

after chemical strip and sanded down the corrosion that occurred under the paint... for those that don't already know '00-'02 USDM wheels have machine face finish like the '03+ models... for some reason, Toyota decided to paint over them...

finished product... i went with a graphite metallic colour...

and then i removed the red stripe on the center cap... i tried to paint the ring black last night but i didn't like the way it turned out... i may just leave the chrome finish or end up painting the whole center cap... we will see
