Knocking noise

My 2 has seemed to have developed a knocking noise.
Drop links were replaced a bit back, but the last few days while driving I get a knock from the front end at first it I thought it was just the left but it has happened on the right side too.
I thought it was when going over rough surfaces/ bumps but I think it has something to do with my steering now too :-/ it happens while turning either way.
Any ideas?
