Will 14 inch wheels fit

Okay please only give an answer if you have psychically tried this, not an opinion.

I have A full set of winter tyres from my old car and they were a staggered setup too. so it was 165/70/13 on the front and 185/65/13 on the back.

now I tried last year to bolt them onto my old roadster, and to no surprise 13 inch wheels didn't fit! what did surprise me was HOW close they where to fitting! it was a case of a few mm. anyway i've got a fantastic opportunity on Monday to take 4 brand new never fitted winter tyres off a friend for £40, and i found someone on gumtree locally that has 4 steel wheels that I can put them on.

i reckon they will fit but just wanted to know if anyone has tried it and what happened.

the tyre sizes aren't great, all four are 175/65/14, so if i put all four on i won't being running a stagger, that said I would probably buy 2 195/60/14 for the back to give a bit of a stagger.

it's worth noting before i get grief for running narrow tyres that I live in south east of england and don't drive all winter with winter tyres, I literally fit them on the day it snows, unfortunately I don't have a fwd car at the moment and need a vehicle for work even in poor weather conditions, and between a LWB 2.4 tonne Mercedes Sprinter and the mr2, i reckon the mr2 is the lesser of two evils.

another member (VAGPerformance) also in the U.S. has run 14s (further back in the same thread) though the picture has gone walkabout.

yeah i used to have 14 inch bbs wheels from a old 3 series beemer on my little skoda felicia. looked great cos it suited the age of the car.
