1st to 2nd gear thump and gearbox noise

Im not sure if this happens with all 2s but my previous 04 6-speed and my current 02 5-speed makes a thump noise changing from 1st to 2nd ( When the clutch is pressed down, engaging into 2nd doesn't thump) under moderate to heavy acceleration. This is with me changing as smooth as possible . There is also the exact same noise with both cars i have had that when the gearbox is cold there is a slight whine noise but not a broken gearbox whine noise. When it is warmed up it still makes the noise but much less noticeable. Could anybody tell me if this is normal? Thanks.

Strange. Do you know the service history of the car and if anything's been replaced and when?

Part service history. Does not show that anything transmission wise has been changed though.
