If you got one from an appropriate year car,  will they fit without modification?

You'll lose the oil warmer as there isn't a connection in the head for the water return. Also you'll need to swap the water pipes and the dipstick from the original engine.

Also im confident you would have to change the loom, fuel rail, pipes basically everything plus strip off the power steering pump and what not... Yes it would fit but it would be a bigger job than getting a MR2 engine with all the gubbins left on. If you get one from a respectable breaker they will not damage any pipes or the loom etc so its easier, just have to fit a gearbox to it and hoist it in.
204.2 BHP Silver 2000 MR2, 2006 2ZZ engine, Apexi PFC, Zorstec full stainless system exhaust (including 400 cell cat & race header), titanium heat wrap, MRW underdrive pulleys, handmade short ram intake, Hondata intake gasket, Celica gearbox ratio's, LSD.
Edge 306 speakers, Alpine CDE 235BT, sound deadened doors.
Full facelift conversion including bracing, sub frame, the works...

Have to continue the search for a MR2 one then.
