Filthy MR2 on the 1/4 mile at York.



Ran 13.2 @ 108mph so a little disappointed, finished 4th in my class though so not all bad. Surprised a few people in the process.



Got the bug back, want to go quicker.....

Hey Lee.

That's a great time when I look at the slip. I reckon you'll be well into the 12s once you make the transfer over to a semi slick tyre like a r888 (and perhaps a better track???).

In comparison, our little roadster ran consistent 13.2s with a 2.0xx 60ft at 105mph. It's even gone down to 12.7s with a 1.89 60ft at 107mph.
Your terminal speed suggests that you are not lacking power but if the 60ft was under 2s then you'll be on the 12s for sure. I think with the same 60ft as mine it'll do about 12.5s due to the extra power.

Cheers,was desperately hoping to crack 12's but have a few issues to sort. My boost is not very stable and never went above 1.1 bar whereas it was hitting 1.2 bar the other night. Also my rev counter is very erratic after 5k rpm so struggling to time my shifts correctly.

My launch was quite tame as it kept drizzling yesterday plus it's always at the back of mind about breaking a CV joint on a really hard launch.

Still keep toying with starting again with a K20 but might give this the rest of the year first and see if proves reliable and up to drag racing.

Thanks for the reply.

It seems that everything was against you and the car on the day, but you still managed to pull off a great time on road tyres and against all the odds! I doubt mine would've got the 13.2 in similar conditions, probably a 13.5 at most based on experience. So great result!

 the k20 is easier, cheaper to maintain and service but a 3sgte roadster must be brutal on road looking at the power figures... Having said that though, I reckon you'd be quite pleased with the setup from your tdi tuned ep3 in a roadster.

MOT time tomorrow. Handbrake is crap but always has been despite new cables and calipers. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

I know its a bit of a trek, but Steve@d1 has sorted out lota of people's troublesome handbrakes after an mot fail.

Engine might be sold on another forum so it could be a breaker (obviously not on here).
