soft top sag

My soft top is sagging compared to what it used to, I have used up all of the adjustment, what can I do? a while ago I did come across a thread where the hex nut can be cut down, is that the only solution, touch wood no problems with locking, or water getting into the cabin.

Have you checked the strap for the ear problem .?

Not recently, as my top has been well and truly up, I will check over the weekend, I am assuming that can cause sagging?
