Do you mean a standard gear cage instead of a quick shift? If so why is the quick shift so bad? Thanks

I had a standard cage with the shifter cut down to reduce the throw.
I found that it baulked going into 2nd gear on track a few times at very high revs. This was due to the lack of leverage.

I'd say so chap. It's really quite loud, but seems like it'll still pass trackday static testing. Reckon it's still under 100dB @ 4500RPM.

Nice car! Have enjoyed reading this thread.   s:) :) s:)

Like the front splitter, do you mind if I ask which one it is? And do the rozzers give you grief for the front plate?

Thanks. It's an EZ-Lip from the states. Think I got it from Amazon.

And no, I've not been stopped by the police at all.
I did however receive a smart-alec remark from one of the customs police about the plate on the way to Le-Mans, but I just ignored him!

So, a few updates.

I've fitted a Personal Neo Grinta steering wheel and Momo boss. It's 330mm in suede with red stitching (to match the Recaros and gear gaitor). Apologies for the crap pic, but the light was fading.

I've also now replaced the Meister-R coilovers with some TEIN Superstreets and TEIN EDFC I sourced from Japan (via Streetercorp - brilliant service once again).
The wiring has been run to the strut tops for the EDFC motors, but I've not yet had chance to wire the controller in, will update when I can. It allows me to adjust the damping force from inside the car  s:) :) s:)

Initial impressions with the shockers set to full soft are that the ride is much more compliant than the Meister-Rs, especially the primary (low speed) ride.
The spring rates are 3KG/mm (Front) and 6KG/mm (Rear). I haven't had them on track yet, but I expect them to be similar to the Meister-Rs when wound up.

I've also fitted a Pioneer SPH-DA120, which has Apple CarPlay included - this is excellent, I'm really pleased with it. I listen to a LOT of music via Spotify, and the application interface is spot on. Plus you have the added bonus of being able to use Apple Maps/Nav, which means I don't need an external Sat-Nav either  s:) :) s:)

Glad you are happy with the tein.
From memory they were a lot of money from new.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Nice day today, and I had a couple of hours to spare, so I thought I'd drag the car out and give it a polish.

I'm always amazed at how well it comes up, the panels are like glass when you run your fingers over them.

TEIN EDFC finally fitted over the weekend.
Massive thanks again to Andy at Bonsai Car Services.

It's great to be able to adjust the damping from inside the car, at the touch of a button. Will be very handy on track, as I will be able to adjust the balance of the car without having to come into the pits.

Haven't yet managed to stick the controller down properly, but it hides away nicely in the dashtop cubby.

FYI, anyone that wants to fit EDFC, the motors DO clear the front and rear bonnets with no modification.

Alex how does the edfc connect to the strut?
Do you screw it on?
Basically what I'm getting at is whether it would work with setting BC or MeisterR coilovers.
...neutiquam erro.

Ok what size is the plate and where did you get it? I need one that size

Yes, its screws on.
Can't speak for whether it would work with Meisters, the installation procedure is quite specific to ensure the dampers are set and can adjust properly.

I know i shouldn't mention this but have you seen the edfc active pro, same motors but g force adaptive settings from a new black box.

Yes, I did consider the pro version, but I decided that I want the damping to remain static for a predictable balance on track. I can't be doing with a constantly, subtly shifting balance.

Hi, I've been looking at getting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 - presume this just slotted in OK along the same lines as any other double DIN head unit would?

Yes, standard double DIN fitment.

Great choice, I'm really pleased with the unit.
