185/55/15 - 7J Rim

As above - I know this is a little stretch, but dont know an awful lot about tyre specs.

Currently on standard PFL Rims which im looking to upgrade to 7j all round - but for now retain my standard tyres which are good but in PFL sizes. I know the rears will be fine but would like at least one more track day out of this set.

Is there enough movement in the 55 sidewall to safely stretch over a 7j rim? My understanding is I will have improved tyre performance but higher wear rate and potentially less progressive breakaway ?

Some wouldn't recommend it but they'll fit fine. It has the effect of stiffening the tyre side walls. Better turn in and feel but less progressive breakaway.
