gearbox ratios

I am trying to lower the gearing in my 2000 MR2, yes, lower it! (want a lower ratio for the motorsport I do). Researching on the net I think I have found that the import MRS model has a lower final drive (4.312 instead of 3.9). Can anybody tell me if this is right please? I would be very interested to know how the 2 boxes compare on the road, say RPM in 5th gear @ 80m.p.h.

can't personally vouch for the data, but assume its accurate.

If you want to go even lower you could use the diff out of the 190 2zz celica that's 4.5. The import MR2 does seem faster 0-60 but ive never had a head to head with a uk car
