I'm hopefully going to get myself some greenstuff brake pads soon, just wanted no who has these already and what disks would you recommend that compliment them well?

Road or track?

'Spirited' or normal driving?

Green stuff are terrible

although the yellow are listed as a track pad, imho they make a very good road pad

I am using yellow stuff at the moment with black diamond disks.
Not a cheap option, but i drive in a "spirited" fashion and feel they do a very good job.
They can squeal a little but nothing terrible.
This is road use btw am yet to track the car.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Not for track, really I always thought green stuff was the best option for normal - spirited driving  s:-o :-o s:-o

Any particular reason?

I've used them for about 5k, over 3k on the Tuscany Trip and can't fault them.
That's mountain passes, high speed autoroute plus the associated occasional heavy applications, high temps and torrential rain (in UK).
They're good from cold too so I don't see a problem.

In conjunction with EBC Ultimax discs.

I'm running green stuff, with standard discs. I do normal short commute, spirited on the weekends.
Apart from the occasional squeal (mostly because I have no shims on them) I've had no problems with them at all.

Got to admit the majority iv spoke to say more about green stuff, probably cause like you jinxedkitten I do short commutes and daily trips to work with some spirited driving , so for the all rounder green stuff cuts the mustard?
Jandaw iv been looking at the ebc ultimax disc but little but too expensive at the minute.
what other discs is there about that people recommend from standard to ultimax?

Been using Greenstuff for years on various disks, they're good all round pads if a bit dusty.
If you don't want to spend on disks then just get standard disks.

That's funny, my dad has an sc430 and the front wheels literally went black in a few weeks with standard toyota pads, I put green stuff in it to cut down the dust and they barely get dirty at all now! The car had awesome stopping power anyway so it didn't make a big difference to that, but they don't squeal at all and stay really clean. Different car I know, but compound is compound.

I've ran both green and yellow stuff pads. Yellow were better but the green stuff weren't terrible. If you can afford the the yellow I'd go for them. They still work well from cold.

I ran mine with pagid discs which you can get from euro parts fairly cheap. A good disc for the money.

Braided lines will also benefit you so if your getting the fluid changed at the same time I'd recommend putting a set on.

I never really had a problem with this set up and it worked well in most temperatures even being turbo'd. Well that was until my last ring trip and I suffered brake fade half way around   s:scared: :scared: s:scared:   but I was really braking hard and it was a very very hot day

Found a potential seller on eBay seem to be the cheapest around for the green stuff pads comes to £88 for front and rear iv asked if he could make it £80 and he's asked me give him a call so we will see how that one goes, on the disk side I might try the same a jinxedkitten for now and pair the pads with pagid discs  :-) :-) :-)

Sorry nothing to do with the post I made but just seen these n had to share! I want some!

+1 to pagid.
Have them on the 2 and the Audi.  :-) :-) :-)

Those wheels things are cool (if a little distracting to other road users).

Tried Pagid rear pads with OEM Toyota discs over a period of around 18 months, and whist the braking performance was good, I couldn't live with constantly having to clean my wheels. I've since returned to Toyota OEM pads, and dust levels are back to an acceptable level. Strangely I had the same set up pagid pads & OEM discs on the front without issue. Perhaps the pagid pads may fair better (dust wise) when used with pagid discs?

My plan that im executing is yellow stuff front where all the power is and green stuff rear. I just put the yellow stuff in the front and they are very good, i do track my car but i am yet to do so with them in.
Oem or replacement Oem disc's should suffice nicely  s:) :) s:)

Quote from: "tomaky"front where all the power is

FYI, my car uses rear brake pads circa 3 times quicker than the front.

I fitted a full set of pads, and wore through the rear set in circa 6,000 miles and 3 trackdays. The fronts were only ~40% worn at this point.

Yellowstuff all round.

Same with mine, rears are quite heavy use on these cars, it would seem

I think it's a bit dangerous to put the feistier pads on the front. Last thing you want to so is bias the brakes towards the front on a rwd car...

I spoke to EBC about getting some of their new race pads for the mr2 (they aren't interested by the way) bs he said always match the front and rear axle, so yellow on front = yellow on rear
