Hi All,
While checking over my newly purchased vehicle I noticed that the positive battery terminal was not tight and tightening the bolt did not really secure it.I know that making the gap bigger will hopefully cure the problem and allow it to tighten onto the post.My question is,will the alarm go off when I disconnect the battery as this is what happens on my MGs(you have to put the key into position 1 to stop this happening). The radio appears to be after market so hopefully will not need a code.Any help appreciated,
Regards  Neil

Firstly welcome to the club, is your new 2 forming part of a collection of interesting vehicles with your MG's?
I have removed the battery and /or terminals many times in my 3 years of ownership and have not had a problem with the alarm. If it did go off your key fob would stop it.
Disconnecting the battery on the 2 for 10 minutes or so also  resets tthe engine management system (ems).
This is not a problem the system is self resetting based upon your driving style.
Good luck and hope the weather suits top down driving for a while longer.

Exactly the correct attitude good man.
Would be interested in your pros/cons of the 2 over the TF.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
