Leaking roof

Hi All,
My roof is leaking on the driver;s side.The small rectangular cup halfway above the window has become distorted and letting in water.Is this a common problem and is renewal of the whole seal the only solution? The  seal drain holes are clear both ways.
Any help appreciated,

Bare with me, but do you by chance park your car pointing up a slope?
