Agree.. make your own kit if you've got any skills. its an easy car to work on.. and if you buy a whole car, odds are you wont be happy and will want to fiddle anyway  s:) :) s:)

See if they have a kit that you can buy and install else where.

have you looked at the 1zz-fe turbo kits from usa/ebay? I've looked at the whifbitz kit in the past. I would have put my hand in my pocket already for it if it wasn't for the look of that manifold.
I'm not saying I'm batman. I'm just saying that nobody has ever seen me and batman in a room together.

got this response from toyota technical director

Hi Jon,

we have a few parts for the TTE turbo kit. These parts are foreseen as spare parts for existing turbos.
It could be that are 1 or 2 kits complete, but I have to check about the content.
So far we can sell only spare parts. Next year we know much more about what we have and willing to do.

Best regards

Very interesting.  Been sat on the money to go turbo for some time now and don't fancy the Whifbitz option.  Keep missing out on TTE kits here.  Wonder if they'd ever consider producing a few extra kits if enough people were interested?  I see their point on keeping parts but this is something TTE usually seem quite limited in - long term support/spares for their parts.

i think they would sell a lot of the kits if they were available even off here im not to keen on the whifbitz either

The kits really are great but cost of kit vs price of car makes it challenging.

The tte turbo kit had an RRP of £5000 towards the end of its life and I have a feeling toyota would still be wanting that not if they were willing to sell or make up a kit from parts.
Factor in fitting and uprated clutch also...

All ways available for rides. Try to get to a meet next year. Sometimes there are a variety  of turbo kits and engine swaps to sample.

I wouldn't want to sell my car. Even if I bought a damn near identical one with a turbo. My car is... mine... So it'd be a case of stripping the turbo off the new one and putting it on mine.

More effort but the right way to go IMO.

A few members have had this kit fitted, it's been a round for a number of years. Other than the manifold needing additional bracing it seems pretty reliable. It's not one of the most powerful kits in standard form it's good for around 200bhp.
I would be looking at the whifbitz kit over this one.

What's your budget?

Have you spoken to the guy selling the whifbitz turbo which was on eBay? Would be worth you buying he complete car and swapping kit to yours.
Speaking from experience it's the most cost effective option.

i dont have anywhere to store an additional car although would be a good saving doing it that way i emailed whifbitz to see re a 200bhp kit, although i remember reading mattperformance wasnt too impressed with their kit on a post saw a year ago. have many people had these on the forum?

A few pe kits about, I have a modified one, personally love it as it is beautiful with its smooth responce, as for the manifold they can crack with time if you don't add extra bracing to help hold the turbo.
