Quote from: "1979scotte"That doesn't look too clever. Glad you walked away.
Don't know how it happen officer I was well within the legal limit.  s;) ;) s;)

You joke, but i genuinely am surprised it happened. We were not pressing on at a high pace. A small amount of rock fall had littered the corner with a few small stones which i unluckily braked on. The ABS wouldnt kill enough speed, the corner was tighter than visually obvious and i had a very heavy passenger. Perfect storm really and run out of road sideways on  s:( :( s:(   very impressed how the lotus looked after me during the crash.

Surprised it's in one piece.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Chassis bent under fuel tank. Rear n/s wheel bent right under the car. Was wearing harnesses which kept me and the passenger pinned to the seat right by the roll over hoop.

We broke it for parts after buying back from the insurers. Very surprising just how much damage was done. All engine mounts sheared and ripped for example. The car rolled twice that i was aware of...

Jesus man cars have come a  long way in safety terms.
Don't reckon you'd have walked away in an 80s equivalent.

The survived the test. Glad you walked away from that one, it wouldn't of taken much to have been a lot worse

Indeed. Was my girlfriends pride and joy. 7 years of modifications to make it the most capable and quickest road going Lotus Europa in the UK.

It was a lovely car, the interior is nice too! I suppose it will always be bitter sweet, after all it did potentially save your life.

I just hope she forgave you!!

Nice subtle colour.
Perfect for an Exige.

I much prefer my wifes Christian Laboutin/ Karen Millen habit. Got to be cheaper.

Finally got round to fitting my new wheels on. Going to need another degree of camber on the rear to get arch clearance   s:lol:  s:lol:

I now have lotus Exige S2 sized front tyres and Lotus Elise S1 rear sized tyres which makes things so much simpler for our trackday habits and swapping tyres between cars!! Also wanted AD08R's and black rims   s8) 8) s8)

Gave it a bit of beans as well since there is now some grip! Goes well   s:crazyeyes:  s:crazyeyes:

175 on the front? I would expect some under steer like that. But I do love the look of those tyres. My friend with an S1 swears by AD08s

Sorry, meant S2 Exige!

205/45R16 front
225/45R16 rear

The problem i have with the rears is that Yokohama AD08's are much wider than most other makes for the same 225 spec. So the 225 Yoko's are as wide as the 245 Falkens i had before but now with 15mm less offset!!

That was on R888's at Silverstone Stowe chasing an Elise Trophy race driver in a race prepped Elise (black Elise). My Elise leaves him for dead on power, but my race craft is not so impressive   s:lol:  s:lol:   Great little track   s:D :D s:D   When she works it is an awesome car and quite a handful! But as you can see from the vid it is not too difficult to keep her on the ragged edge every corner! I cant wait to get the MR2 out!

What wheels are those? Can I ask why you replaced the SP-12 for these?

They are Rota Slipstreams. Changed from the SP's for the reasons you have quoted above. We have an Elise S1 and an Exige S2 and have a supply of track tyres from a Lotus race team. I have now got rims on the MR2 which take these tyre sizes! Personally i prefer the SP's to the Rotas. I had SP's on my TVR when Silverstone Performance first brought them out. We also have the same rim style on the Exige. And the Lotus Europa before that! But my S1 Elise has Rotas which really suit that.

I am now running 2.25 deg negative camber on the rear to give good clearance from the arches with the 8J Rotas fitted with 225/45R16 tyres. Just got to get the geo properly sorted. Joining a bunch of mates on a Lotus run this weekend. Will be interesting to see how i get on with the MR2   s:) :) s:)

Be interested to know what you go for.
What pads - disks are on that car?

Rota wheels look good...but I am biased!
