I suppose it can't have a positive effect but i was a passenger in a 1MZ V6 last year and it didn't seem to suffer to much to me.
A few members here have them.

Great come back on the supercharger!

Are you going turbo then eventually? Twin scroll?

Should make a great amount of torque, that v6!

I am hoping to eventually go turbo, yes. I've realised with the roadster though that you don't need a whole load of power in them to have a fast, thrilling car. I have two turbos, a big twin entry Holset and a single scroll garret rated to 500bhp+. I think the garrett will be first to go on as it'll afford me to run a off the self cast t3 manifold (quite cheap) and work well with the stock engine. Th hardest and most expensive part will be the charge cooler setup, which is the only put off.

Pound for pound I think the 2zzge is probably the easiest and cost effective power adder. What do you guys think?

Oh dear are we going to do this AGAIN  s;) ;) s;)
It's cheap if you've got the time space and  knowlege to do yourself.
For me it doesn't do it, maybe on track where you are constantly reving the nuts off of it but then i would rather find the extra dosh and do what you have done.
Also there are a lot of people that think they don't make the 188 bhp they're supposed too.
I like my turbo, just want another 70 bhp.

In that case, I think we'll leave that chapter closed lol

Quote from: "AndyM"Scott, you do certainly have to temper your expectations for massive gains with NA. Bolt on things like turbos are the quick/easy way to make bigger numbers, however there is some joy in the challenge of getting some NA horses on the board.  s:) :) s:)  I have lots of the bits already so I figure why not have a go.

I do fancy trying a V6. You get huge gains but it's a different ballpark cost wise though and does change the character of the car from what I've heard (not in a bad way, just different). To be honest if I was going down the crazy/expensive swap route the concept of a supercharged K20 gets me a bit frisky ( m https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeK8MExNTlE m ).  s;) ;) s;)

Have you thought about turbocharging at all? The right turbo and manifold setup would make for an awesome and fun setup I think. Something like a t28 or td04 turbo and custom manifold.

Just wondering if you have any results to report on your remap yet?

Nothing yet I'm afraid. I've got my insurance renewal to sort out this week where I'm declaring everything and then will start bolting bits on, wiring things up and look to get a map booked in. It's going to be a project that spans over a couple of months I expect.  s:) :) s:)

Not sure why you would want to change injectors TBH. Mapping wise, on NA, you are going to be leaning the mixture out a little from standard, so no injector upgrade required. When you go forced induction, you will likely want 440s in there, which are higher flow than the 2zz items.
Ex 2GR-FE roadster. Sold it. Idiot.  Now Jaguar XE-S 380. Officially over by the bins.
