Having been for a ride in a built 2zz Rotrex and as my own 1mz Rotrex is now fully operational I can't wait for another to be finished.
They really are very good power adders.

Glad you've got a garage jealous if I'm honest.
Glad you've got a new baby too. Not jealous of that at all. 😂
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

If ever there was a badly named thread!

Really looking forward to seeing this car. I hope you have noted the dates for next years Ding Day in your diary, best to have a target eh?

Taa Daa, not as much room as the unit but it does save me some decent cash; cash to finish the build! >:D

It's weird but there's a certain warm fuzzy feeling that comes with having your own garage, very strange  ;D

Brought on board a new vertically challenged test driver as well.

Quality build thread!

Reminds me of some of the nut and bolt restorations on some of the old forums!

Very good modifications ! Do you cut the original fenders with your fender flares ?

Yes I've taken around 50mm off the rear wings & a slice off the bumper, then finished with a heavy duty rubber U strip.
I haven't cut the fronts yet as I'm not happy with how the flares sit, too much arch gap. So I'm currently looking for either something deeper or I might try heating them up & bending them to suit the wing curvature better.

Keep us updated on the arches. I'm in the same boat with arches. I only really need an extra 20-25mm of arch so the 70mm arches will be too wide for my setup. I like the rouge style but they are huge and dont need that wide. Be trying to find arches for ages now, becoming a real pain in the backside tbh.

Looking at your pic and I have seen your front offset looks like mine. What offset you running?
Are you on facebook mr2 page?

Chriss

Your car looks fantastic and has the power to back it up,

in regards to the fenders I really like what this guy has done with his front fender flare, the rear looks far too small and he has not cut his arches it seems.

Wheels are 16x7 ET40, spaced out to ET 15 on the front & ET -10 rear. Yeah the fronts are a pain as the wing shape is hard to work around. It'll definitely be a heatgun persuasion job I reckon. Sorry don't do Facebook.

Technically it currently has 0 horsepower :D
I like the fronts as well, can't find anything which falls so deep unfortunately. Those wheels are massive as well which helps, but my limit is 16".

Mine are
15x7 front et20
16x8 rear et20
How much extra width on the rear give you over oem?

Now waiting patiently to see how you get on with your fronts as I will prob be copying your design as I'm after the same look on mine.

I'd have liked 15" up front as well, but they won't go over the brakes. Poke on the rear is 61.4mm over stock. I should add that the tyres are staggered at 205 45 & 225 45.

I'm now trying to work out how your arches will look with my offset

My brain hurts!

multihobbyman

Can I ask what dimensions are your arches as the Ebay link earlier posted doesnt work.

Your rears will sit 17.3mm further in than mine. Possibly not wide enough but easily sorted with some 25mm bolt on hubcentric spacers ;)
Ideally I'd like a wider track on the rear anyway, traction dependent I'll probably move to a 8 or 9" rim with a low offset in future.

Any updates? I have cut and extended my metal arches in my wings. Tbh I'm not sure I like them. Might go back to the plastic arch idea.
