Shifter shaft question for C60

Hello everyone, I've searched and read through tons of threads, so it will be a quick and precise question - if I get a C60 gearbox from a Celica and a Shifter Shaft from a EU 6-speed MR2, will the shaft need any modification to adapt the gearbox to be used in the MR2, or is it a case of just swapping the shafts? Thank you!

If I understand your question correctly, then you are correct, but will also need the reverse block out (also from the 6speeed mr2)

Well 99% people say that the reverse block out is nice, but not nescessary, I take it that's the truth?

I don't think it is 100% needed to get the car working but I think it is 100% needed to make the car "usable"
