So I've been stripping down the front end of the 2, but hit a problem tonight. The rear most captive nut where the wishbone attaches to the chassis seems to have broken loose, so the bolt is just spinning, wonderful!

Has anyone seen this happen before & can I get access to it by cutting a hole in the footwell?

Could you use a Rivnut instead?

Thanks for the input chaps. I'm not happy using a rivnut, I've heard they're not recommend as a stress fixing & with it being the wishbone I want it to be 100%. I've just picked up some thin discs for the grinder, going to cut an access panel out of the footwell   s:) :) s:)
