2zz conversion engine mount - help

Hi all,

Ive got the driver aide engine mount off.

Got a conversion mount from Patrick - thanks.

I'm having trouble understing how they fit.

Do i put the conversion part on first. Bolt it down then use the original mount on top. So the only difference is the bolt that goes into the car is in a different location and not the bolts in the engine?

Up load some pictures of your problem either Patrick or I can take some pictures of how it should look. A few questions for you though. What mounting brackets do you have on your gearbox? And what mount are you using on the r/h inner wing.

I bought the car converted so i believe they are all standard.

From my limited knowledge the first pic is correct and the second is not. Also it looks like the bush in the forth pic has split.

So i dont use the original mount at all?

Right so you have thrown the celica or Corolla gear box mountings in the skip and put the 1zz mounts onto the gearbox. next thing to do is get hold of the celica engine mount and place that in the nearest bin. Then use two celica engine mount nuts on the two studs that are on the cast bracket on the car and two new nuts and bolts on the other two holes. Do you want me to take some pictures tomorrow or was my explanation ok?

Ive got you.

Get rid of the celica engine mount all together.

Re-use the two nuts and use additional 2x 10mm nuts. Re-use the main 17mm on the right side.

It would be great to have a picture so that i can compare it tomorrow

The reused nuts dont seem to go all the way in. Quite stiff to keep turning. I'm using wd40 which isnt helping

Quick question.
Do I need to replace the remaining two engine mounts from the celica? Or just the gearbox mount?

Only the roadster 1zz mounts and the swap mount should be used.
