saicab's Now orange 05 mr2 project

Finally bought an mr2. Had a few BMW's before and i thought ill try an mr2 as ive always wanted one. Bought this 05 mr2 as cat C as it had a few nice option like TTE spoiler, TTE exhaust, bodykit ans chrome rollbar. It looks well specced too as it has heated seats and AC etc. The mileage is 58k and the engine sounds good,.

It has front damage so im looking for an facelift bumper,bonnet, headlights, ac rad and normal radiator. The bodywork is quite tired but im looking to do a full respray or maybe even a colourchange as im getting fed up of owning black cars  s:? :? s:?  .

I hope i can get it to a good standard and bring it back to life.

You can buy the mounting tabs for the front lights from Toyota to repair your headlights

Quick update, managed to strip the car a bit further. Looks like it wont be a direct bolt on replacement. The chasiss leg has slightly bent so will need pulling and lining up  s:( s:(  

Managed to get most of the parts i need from an forum member who is a total gent, all i'm missing now is a bonnet so ive put an wanted ad up.

The car will be going to the body shop next week so ill post up some more updates.

While i had some time i thought i would give the headlights a clean. Not perfect but came out better i think. Pictures dont show the actual difference very well im afraid.

Lots of things still to do when budget allows.

Hopefully a full respray too in a colour i havent decided on yet.

 s:) s:)  Wow those silver bits look better than I thought they would. The bumper doesn't look as bad as I remember it. Did you sort fog-lights out ok?
What colour are you going to spray it?

The bodyshop fixed the fog light bracket somehow.
I've had 3 black cars in a row now so fancy a change, as I'm doing half of the car I might as well change the colour.
I'm leaning towards red with some black bits like the vents etc...

Just checked oil and it looked empty (crap dipstick design!!) so i decided to change oil ,Filter, air filter and spark plugs. Heres a pic of old & new Plugs



Also managed to install my hardtop, I think the silver and black theme is growing on me





also fitted some cheap ebay flat wipers and gave all the glass a good clean with Autoglym glass polish

Yeah hardtop does make it look better also seems a bit more quiet and spacious inside.
Colour wise I'm leaning to red with black hardtop & side vents. But that will be in the new year now.

Really difficult to choose a colour so i have narrowed it down to 3 BMW individual colours i like.

java green
shakir orange
atlatis blue

Want to go a bit loud this time  s:D s:D    s:D s:D

Never go green its unlucky.
Orange is just red with yellow in it. My thoughts on that are well known on this board.
Blue it is then.
