Quote from: "shnazzle"Really interested in the yellowspeed coilies. See how the ride.

Here is my take on all these coilovers available. For most of my life I have been around and competed in powerlifting at national and international level.  If anyone asked me about that I am your man.  On cars and suspension I know nothing and this was the point of the car enjoy learn and make me a better driver, I could have brought anything but I had been out in a car with 2zz and  Miester and was really impressed smooth and firm. Anyway a set of what I got came up and I was going to say know but then I thought the price is so good what am I doing ! So got them and by Ding day they will be set up and anyone can have a ride see what they think. They look well made and they are yellow so match the car lol

Point is I am not qualified enough to tell if they are good or not. I am no Lewis Hamilton yet

Sell the boddy kit just adds weight anyway and do a K swap.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I dropped my 2 into Andy today, for new handbrake cables and an MOT.  Saw yours in there and was chatting to him about it.  Yes, he said to me it was probably one of the best handling 2's he had driven.

So it is MOT time tomorrow. Brakes are done. So I fitted the front calipers on th wrong side! What a dumb ass! Thanks to Alex knight for finding out the problem.

Big thanks to Andy at bonsia no better place to take your mr2.

So queens square next week it is. And whats next is the body kit a wheels. I will post what I would do different a and costing so anyone thinking of doing what I have done then I hope it will help someone. But the big lesson is to buy new rear calipers don't recon your own the mechanisms of of handbrake after 110 k they will need changing and the seal kits are not enough.

Hi

Kudos to your efforts on the build. Saw it on the ramp @ Bonsai. She is so pretty underneath. And that exhaust set me green with envy as well as. Looking at your indecision on future power supplies, I will gladly let you have a blast in mine once the Rotrex goes in. Having had a Corolla compressor, these make the best engine combo I have ever driven so in the 2, it will be amazing.
Torn between doing the work myself or giving it to Andy. So enjoyed doing the swap and so much I want to do with the engine out.
Black MR2 with red hood and black hard top. Mtec drilled and grooved discs with Green stuff pads all round. 2ZZ engine with PPE header and sports cat and stock back box.  6 speed Corolla box! Tein lowering springs.

Sorry for late reply.  Thanks it was a joy to do the work and Andy helped me through . I can see why you want to do it yourself. It is very satisfying and omg I would love a blast. I am currently looking at doing the body kit and making it look like it does 200 mph. As soon as I am back from holiday will start the build again , it's been great having the two driving again. Roof down been great.

So after a great summer of driving the banana and house sale not happening it's time to do some stuff . I have been to see my mate clint at Wild West custom paint . And next phase is now in progress. So underneath looks amazing and so now time to sort the out the looks . So body kit to be fitted at end of the month full gen Toyota items I have pain fully sourced and I will wrap the hard top and window surround  in carbon fibre look wrap I have purchased . The wheels 16 FL all round will be powder coated gloss black.

Now I did buy a big gay wing from eBay and did not like it. I am looking at the TRD replica one from the states so if anyone has one can you let me know what it was like ?

I am also looking to change the stereo to. A iPhone set up.

Once this is done I will start on the motor.

JUst some feed back on the all the suspension mods. I am not a fast driver and I am no Alex knight but the guy in the 911 turbo looked upset when I went round him in his 100k car   s:lol:  s:lol:

Great read so far, loving your work! Get some neoprene covers on those coilovers to keep them looking like new for years to come.

Where did you get the spoon subframe collars from and how much were they if you don't mind me asking?
