Happy new year all

if you still following this great but this forum seems quite now , anyhow

Engine is out time to get her fit for work .plan is
K20 oil pump on way
Turbo manifold on way
Double valve springs
Sump with baffles
Need to get rid of the throttle body as it is drive by wire and does not have a ECU for k pro (hondata)
Need turbo , 3076 is looking likely
I was going to do pistons and rods but I fear if I do that it will take to long. So will run 8-10 psi , it will be plenty
Engine mounts will be bonsai cars (in development)
Drive shafts also Bonsai ,
Wiring is gona be hard but I have good team I can turn to.

On and it will look amazing before it goes in . Still no paint yet as had new booth installed so slight delay

Can say over a 2zz the donor car for k20 k20 you can make money back so in my case the engine cost not a lot. . Food for thought

got fuel rail and regulator on the way from the states and all the fittings . So many spares for these , to say this came from a good source was a understatement. Anyway I did not want to buy it now but when things come up that save hundreds you have to find the money. But that is it for a while  going to spend time now on cleaning the engine and getting it looking like new. . The turbo kit will cost a lot less than I first thought.

Ecu wise the haltech elite 1500 does drive by wire. So would not need to change it all over and I want the inlet as it gives more torque. , anyway long way off that , how ever hondata so popular in the USA so I have my contact keeping his ear to the ground !

Fuel rail is a looks like it's off a fighter jet !

Looking good!

Few (hopefully) helpful thoughts  s:) :) s:)

What inlet manifold are you planning on - the standard will fit fine, anything else (RRC or RBC) you will need to modifiy the bulkhead.

With the position of the engine against bulkhead I ended up cutting a hole to allow better access (adding a re-inforced plate to allow removal). This was great for clutch bleeding, alternator, water pipe etc access.

Are you keeping the standard fuel system. I ran a re-circ system, but found that anything up to 250 bhp the standard was fine - I did run an uprated full pump (Bosch) for peace of mind.

Hope that helps and enjoy the clean up and build  s:) :) s:)

Manifold arrived it's not what I want but the budget liked it a lot. I know tubula designs are better but this is a start. Spoke to a good friend of mine Danny , This guy is a cosworth God. Back in the day. Rs500 all the trimmings. He been giving a lot of advice on the turbo. So a t3/t4 it will be. He has been building race cars for ages. I trust him a lot.

Now as a furniture antique restorer by trade. I do like things clean and I am a bit ocd. So here is the start.

So quick update.

So I have got a light flywheel , k20 sump , type r inlet manifold all for peanuts . Car not painted as engine mounts are on the way NOT innovate ! Again a great source.

I have done a ton of research and I really have in my head what I am doing now .

Next up new oil pump kit.  This will use the type r pump as it revs much better , as the k24 one is a huge balanced shaft design it has to go one cause the engine is out and two it's the right thing to do.

Will get a 70 mm throttle body due to the turbo,  and a water to air intercooler. I really not driven the car for a while due to the accord in front of the garage.

Going for a silver and black theme on the engine , I have spent hours cleaning and prepping.

There is things I can do as I for sure want to relocate the battery to the front. A race one and that's easy as powervamp are all but a mile away

Hope everyone still looking forward to this build as I am.

Hi all been quite as made redundant and other stuff going on , but things now on the mend.

So this happend I was told by Andy at bonsai so many times that the banana car is to good to swap any engine and he is right so like some on here I have another roadster ! It was from a local source and has a blow engine it is perfect for what I want and between Andy and myself will now turn the power ranger red into full on weapon , this way I get to drive the yellow one with very little trouble while I build the monster and also won't have the yellow one off the road for ages , I love this yellow car.

So the k24 will be put into this lightweight project. So I will start a new thread.  Or just continue on this one ? I don't know ?

Take care all keep safe enjoy your cars

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
