so at last its stripped out sub frame was a complete ass, the exhaust was not moving so had to cut it out the way to get the sub frame down. anyway its out and can see why this needs to be done mine
I don't think its to bad as its 110k old but let me know what you all think. all rear suspension is off. Taking the bits to Bonsai for Andy to strip out bushes and remove the arms on the subframe.

I feel like I have turned a big Corner today as I will now start what this is all about a clean and new car.

also regarding the rear sub frame Andy at Bonsai has recommended Spoon sports kit so when the sub frame goes in it is straight and true and so I will do this as it makes sense. not cheep but when fitted it will not go out of alignment, I strongly believe in hands on experience and he has tried and tested and as I am going turbo everything has to be right.

as for the underside I am looking at a paint system called POR15 and it looks good so will try it.

I'd be interested in a shot from the other side.

The area circled would be worth some investigation. Hopefully it's just outside surface rust.

Make sure you give it a prod and a poke.
Mine looked ok until Matt used an impact gun then bits started falling off.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

It's all surface rust that's what mad me think it was not to bad. But when it's sand blasted will see more. But will have powder coat and dinatrol in the inside.

Bonsai would know, as mine was in a right state when they took it off.

Who cares about colour, so long as most of the rust is removed, and then lots and lots of paint, followed by your choice of corrosion treatment.    s:D :D s:D

Mine is black.  :-) :-) :-)
Lots of other black stuff down there.
Are you going to change the colour of your suspension arms?

turns out the cheapest colour is black so it will be black the money needs to go where it counts  on new bits so if I can save I will. spoons sport collar kit is more important than colour and if black should stay clean looking

Cool will have to have a bonsai meet. Andy is a genius and so lucky he is at the bottom of my hill. Don't take your 2 anywhere else.

Next week I hope to start putting her back together.

Day off today so went at it , steering UJ is off and its got more rust than the Titanic ! new one on order

also had a good day at my local Toyota dealer and I cannot tell you how helpful and really interested in the car and what I was doing and to boot is giving me a good discount on all new bolts and stuff.

I have had the new seering hoses made up by local company and came in at £48  they used the old ends and then replaced the rusty metal lines with over the top 8000 psi lines ! look great

so the clean has started and I been at it most of the day and its getting there.

first batch will be back from poweder coat this week so I hope I will be able to start the reverse process very soon. giving myself till end of march to finish
