Does the steering rack have to be set to center, and how do you do that. Is their a hole location to center it.
My MR2 runs very slightly to the left, I have taken the car to my local Toyota garage and asked for the suspension to be set up, and for the rack to be centered. I think that all they did was to move the steering wheel.

Steering wheel should only be able to go on in one way unless you've got an aftermarket boss.

Your tracking is almost certainly out. Although mismatched/uneven tyres could also cause this behaviour. Even a binding brake calliper I suppose.

Some time ago on a NEW Company car, Vauxhall Cavalier, I had the same problem, amongst several others.
The Main Dealer told me it was "Due to the camber of the road".
Same guy that told me to "Bang the dashboard before starting the car" to stop a fuse blowing every time I started it!
and that was only two of the Gems from that dealer.
(They did eventually re track the front wheels at my insistence)

+1 on checking the geometry set up.
Most places will check for free, then charge for adjusting. Worth a shot.
My tyre place also recommending getting it checked 2-3 times a year, depending on mileage.

Thanks guys. jeffsimply, do you mean that they couldn't have moved the steering wheel, has it got a spline missing or something to stop moving the steering wheel. As said i took it to a Toyota dealer to have the suspension set up, and it just very slightly runs to the left. It has newish tyres and the tyre pressures are set. It just feels like the steering rack wants to be centered, ie the steering feels soft to the left and slightly harder to overcome to the right, if you know what I mean. Its not a major issue, it just feels odd.

That's interesting, its exactly how mine feels and acts. The steering wheel is slightly to the right when heading centre, and steering left feels light. The entire car is squirrely at speed and downright scary if wet.

A full alignment is on my list as I'm assuming that's part of the problem based on the steering wheel position. That said, I've got new shocks and springs ready to go on (81k with what look like OEMs) and new tyres (the ones that came on the car are a joke) so I'm getting all that sorted beforehand. Hopefully a combination fixes the issue, I suspect mine's a mix of ridiculous tyres and tracking.

It will be one of he above.
Tomaky recently took off his track wheels/tyres and fitted a set of stock.
Think the 4 wheels had 3 different tyres. It handled very poorly.
I changed my suspension at about 60k and would change again in another 50k.
Full alignment every year rusty bolts willing.

Fitting a Matt brace cured my slight drift. Tried everything else beforehand.

when I got my '2 the tyres looked fine, matched set - loads of tread etc, but look close and they were very old!.
it drove like the shocks had gone, slightest breeze or bump and it'd veere off.

got some newer (used, as I'm cheap) rubber and instantly 99% perfect. honestly thought it was f***ed.

steereing wheel can be moved by fixed amounts, it's splined, but usualy if it's off center you have a joint/bush or crash damage problem.
